The Explore Holyoke community calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings and daily specials from restaurants.

Come celebrate spring outside at the Holyoke Public Library. Holyoke resident and professional forester Tom Kass will lead a tour of the library’s grounds and introduce the many species of trees in Library Park. The flowering cherries will be in full display and are a must see. While other trees will be showing characteristics only observed this time of year, Tom will describe their features and what to watch for over the seasons. Eddie and Esther Sacks were for many years a fixture in Holyoke's political and cultural scene. Both Holyoke natives, Eddie (auctioneer, realtor, Constable and Deputy Sheriff for seven decades) and Esther (insurance broker, auctioneer, and community group leader) were also both active in many Jewish community organizations, as well as other local organizations. The Greater Holyoke Council for Human Understanding presents its second annual Book Group Event on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, 4:30-6:30pm at the Holyoke Public Library, 250 Chestnut St., Holyoke. Co-sponsored with Holyoke Community College and the Holyoke Public Library, the featured book is "Clap When You Land" by Elizabeth Acevedo. The book explores themes of heredity, class, and privilege, as well as the complex emotions the characters feel toward their birthplaces and homes.
