The IVHF Battle of the Badges Volleyball Tournament is back for an eighth year featuring members of the New York City Fire Department going head to head with teams of emergency personnel from Holyoke, Springfield and greater New England. Spectator admission is free and doors will open at 8:45am with pool play starting at 9am and playoffs beginning around 1pm. Free parking is available in Lot M. For adults and teens. Two tours in one! Holyoke’s canals were the key to this planned industrial city.  Paper and textile mills set up shop as soon as sections were completed to reap the waterpower the canals provided. Learn how the waterways were constructed, how they work, and tour parts of first and second level canals. End up at the Robert E. Barrett Fishway. There you will receive a guided tour of HG&E’s powerhouse and the fishway where you can see the fishlift in operation and observe fish that have been transported over the dam. Limit 15 people. Join Bob Comeau as he takes us down a three-mile memory lane on Holyoke's historic Oak Street. Learn about the the history of Avery Field and its surrounding land. Enjoy walking along Oak Street as he takes you on a journey learning about the area's history, the homes and some of the early and important residents. Dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to be on your feet for at least 2 hours.

Girls and their guardians are invited to a FREE Pop-Up event on Saturday, June 3, from 12:00-2:00PM. Your girl can do a planting activity or have a snack while you learn more about Girl Scouts.
