The Explore Holyoke community events calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city of Holyoke to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings, daily specials from restaurants and events outside the city of Holyoke.
Learn how to tie geode style and leave with your own bandana project! Jey Weisgerber (they/them) of Found & Faded will teach you the basics of tying with artificial sinew, how to tie fabric for geode formation, and share their process for cold mist dyeing at home. Leave with a bandana you tie-dyed on your own! Participants will tie their own 27-inch bandanas, participate in the application of fiber-reactive powdered dyes, and mist, heat-set, and rinse items before the class ends. Formal washing and drying of the project is the responsibility of the participant. Due to the use of powdered dyes, a high-quality safety respirator mask is required to participate in this course – a great investment for any crafter.
