The Explore Holyoke community events calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city of Holyoke to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings, daily specials from restaurants and events outside the city of Holyoke.
Join this fun class to create dot mandala paintings on rocks! Students will learn how to use dotting tools and techniques, learn about the kind of paint to use, and about finding inspirational ideas to paint on their rocks using the dotting techniques. Gretchen has been painting rocks for the last 10 years leaning and perfecting the dotting techniques on rocks and other surfaces.
Gretchen Holesovsky is a self-taught artist who has been painting and drawing since childhood. She was introduced to watercolor in her twenties and fell in love with the medium. Over the years, Gretchen has earned memberships into many elite watercolor societies, earned many awards, and been published in Splash 10. Now retired, Gretchen pursues new endeavors in multimedia, acrylic, rock painting and many other creative muses.
Wistariahurst offers a wide variety of programs, educational opportunities, and events including workshops, concerts, lectures and demonstrations designed to be of service to and enhance the quality of life of Holyoke residents.
This new indoor club will feature 15 fenced courts, a pro shop, and a snack bar, offering outdoor-style play with indoor benefits. Construction starts soon, with an opening planned for late 2025 near JCPenney.
