The Artery is thrilled to invite the community to a Gallery Opening Reception celebrating the vibrant and thought-provoking works of Dr. Gloria Caballer Arce, a renowned artist, educator, and community leader. The event will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Artery, 289 High St., Holyoke, MA.
Dr. Caballer Arce, a retired Springfield School District educator with over 30 years of service, has dedicated her retirement to artistic exploration. Her exhibition, “Astonishing Inspirations,” showcases her diverse creative journey, featuring an array of paintings, prints, and her signature jewelry. This collection highlights her mastery of geometric shapes, bold lines, and intense colors while reflecting her deep engagement with themes of politics, spirituality, and the human condition.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, and a proud graduate of SUNY Binghamton and UMass Amherst, where she earned her Doctorate in Bilingual and Multilingual Education, Dr. Caballer Arce has long been a cornerstone of the Holyoke and Springfield communities. She co-founded the Latino Scholarship Fund at her kitchen table and continues to inspire through her art and advocacy.
This special reception offers a unique opportunity to connect with Dr. Caballer Arce, explore her artistic vision, and celebrate her contributions to both the arts and the community. Guests will enjoy light refreshments and the chance to experience a collection that bridges personal expression and universal themes.
