Holyoke Farmers Market H.I.P Education and Pop up Events

These events are aimed to teach people about the importance of Farmers Markets and the Healthy Incentive Program that allows people with access to SNAP the ability to get up to $80 in fresh produce at farm stands and farmers markets in their local community. Our partners at Mass in Motion and 5210 Lets Move Hamden County also gives out information and resources offered by other organizations that are focused on healthy eating ,family's and community engagement.

9th Annual Adult Spelling Bee

Let's Spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S for Holyoke Kids! Why not kick-off spring with an evening of good company, good food and lots of fun at Homework House's 9th Annual Adult Spelling Bee! Join us on April 25th at Gateway City Arts at 5:30 for a fun-filled evening in support of Homework House programming for Holyoke children. You can BEE a part of the fun too! Gather some friends and register your team! Team registration is $200 for a team of three. Not ready to spell? Come cheer on your favorite team! Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  

Nice & Easy Canal Walk

Holyoke Heritage State Park Visitor Center 221 Appleton St, Holyoke, MA

Geared for seniors but open to all ages.  Join the park interpreter for some exercise along the Canal Trail of Holyoke, and beyond. On-the-go interpretation of old mills, how the canals work, the Connecticut River, current businesses and more. Two miles. Dress for the weather.  Severe weather cancels. Meet at the Visitor Center.

Connecting with the Connecticut River – Canals, Power, Fish and You!

Holyoke Heritage State Park has a new and innovative program for groups this spring. This is a customizable program for all ages -  youth groups, church groups, school groups, university groups, and senior living facilities. Additional interpretive opportunities are offered for individuals and families. Because the Robert Barrett Fishway will be closed to the public this year, we are teaming up with the Fishway Guides for a collaborative program called, “Connecting with the Connecticut River." This eagerly anticipated addition marks the museum's first new exhibit since 2018, bringing innovation and hands-on learning to children of all ages. “The Thief of Baghdad” with Organ Accompaniment by Peter Krasinski

Acclaimed organist Peter Krasinski is returning to the United Congregational Church of Holyoke to accompany the silent film "The Thief of Baghdad" on Saturday, April 27th. This is a unique live performance that will thrill film buffs and music fans alike! Suggested donation is $10 ($5 for students and seniors).
