The Explore Holyoke community calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings and daily specials from restaurants.

Holyoke Gas & Electric’s Annual Shad Derby is a FREE event that invites the region's anglers to fish the waters of the Connecticut River in a contest to catch the largest shad. Contestants must bring their fish to the official weighing station located by the Robert E. Barrett Fishway, near the Route 116 Bridge. Official weighing is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Derby Days. McMahon’s 3nd Annual Plant Sale Saturday, May 20th / 10am - 2pm 75 Kane Rd, Holyoke, MA 01040 We’re excited to host our 3rd Annual Plant Sale and fundraiser for McMahon School. We have a great variety for plants this year including indoor house plants, annual vegetables, outdoor flowers, and perennial edible plants. It’s for a great cause. All the plants, pots, and soil are donated by the community and 100% of the sales goes directly to the school.
