MATRIA: Honoring Puerto Rican Women Who Lead
Now on view at Beyond Armour Yard in Holyoke
A new public exhibit titled MATRIA is now on display at Beyond Armour Yard, celebrating the stories of Puerto Rican women who have made a lasting impact on the City of Holyoke. Through striking photography and storytelling, MATRIA uplifts the voices of five community leaders whose work spans activism, education, historic preservation, volunteerism, and community empowerment.
These women have dedicated their lives to driving positive change—connecting neighbors with resources, fighting for equitable access to education, and preserving cultural history in the city they call home.
Located at Beyond Armour Yard, MATRIA is more than just an art installation—it’s part of a broader vision to turn Beyond Armour Yard into a welcoming gateway to Holyoke’s Puerto Rican Cultural District. This vibrant space is designed to celebrate connection, culture, and creativity, while honoring the people who make Holyoke’s Puerto Rican community strong.
