A Delicious New Chapter for Downtown Holyoke
Libretto Café is officially opening its doors — and you’re invited.
On Wednesday, April 15th, join us at Mill 1 at Open Square for the Grand Opening of Holyoke’s newest Italian café and bakery. The celebration kicks off at 11:00 AM with a ribbon cutting featuring Mayor Joshua Garcia and the Greater Holyoke Chamber, and continues until 1:00 PM with food, coffee, and community.
What to Expect
This isn’t just a coffee shop opening — it’s a gathering place coming to life. Stop by and discover:
- Scratch-made Italian specialties — focaccia, cornetti, meatballs, supplì, and more, all made in-house
- Signature espresso brewed on a brand-new espresso machine, featuring Springfield’s own Monsoon Roastery beans
- A raffle with prizes including Libretto Café mugs, Monsoon Roastery coffee, and a $25 gift certificate
- A community media swap — bring a book, movie, or CD to rehome and add it to Libretto’s Free Library
The Story Behind the Café
Co-owners Liz LaBrocca and Tim Scott started their journey in 2023 at local farmers’ markets, earning fans across the Pioneer Valley with their fried risotto and made-from-scratch Italian food. After placing third at E for All Pioneer Valley’s Pitch Contest and completing their 2024 Business Accelerator program, they rebranded as Libretto Café and found their permanent home in the historic Mill 1 at Open Square.
For Liz, who has called Holyoke home since 2018, this is personal. “Opening a café has long been my dream, and I’m thrilled to realize it in this beautiful mill.”
