St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Holyoke will welcome The Most Rev. Sean Rowe, Presiding Bishop of the national Episcopal Church of America, for a special Sunday service on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 485 Appleton St., Holyoke. This marks the first time a Presiding Bishop will visit St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The visit comes during an historic weekend for the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Very Rev. Miguelina Howell will be ordained and consecrated in Springfield as the 10th Bishop of Western Massachusetts—historic as she becomes the first woman and the first Black Latina/Hispanic person to serve as Bishop of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. The community is welcome to this special service with Bishop Rowe on Sunday, April 26th and attendees can look forward to uplifting music performed by Vanessa Ford “the songstress of Springfield” accompanied by Curtis Mercier, the St. Paul’s Church Organist. All are welcome to this historic building for this historic event and invited to the parish hall following the service for refreshments and an opportunity to meet Bishop Rowe, and to connect with members of the congregation and community. Whether you are a longtime member or visiting for the first time, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church invites everyone to join in celebration and community during this momentous occasion. Spanish language interpreters will be on hand.
