Holyoke, the Water City

Converting the power of falling water to usable energy takes age-old technology. Topography and the Connecticut River’s character gave rise to a prosperous city in late 19th and early 20th century. This illustrated presentation describes the origins of a planned industrial city and how water continues to power Holyoke.

Come enjoy a presentation on the history of Holyoke inside the Visitor Center utilizing exhibits and visuals. All programs are free. Wheelchair accessible.
