Geo-Spec: Cultural Introspection Wealth

Taber Art Gallery is pleased to announce Geo-Spec: Cultural Introspection Wealth by Raishad J. Glover on view January 16 – March 20, 2024.

Raishad JaBar Glover was born in 1980 in Heidelberg, Germany. Glover attended The Governor’s School for the Arts in Greenville, SC; attended New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in New Orleans, LA (High School Diploma); attended the Xavier University of Louisiana; attended Tufts University, School of Museum for Fine Arts in Boston (Studio Diploma); attended Yale University, Yale School of Art in New Haven, CT (MFA).

Glover considers himself a Conceptual artist who practices with mediums such as Lenticular Printing, Graphite Powder, Beeswax, Dura-trans/backlit Film, Analog/Digital Photography, and LED Lights. Geo-Spec: Cultural Introspection Wealth explores Cultural Introspection Wealth (CIW), Ecological Design Services (EDS), and Visual Transformations (VT) with Glover’s Geo-Spec Cube series serving as a starting point for new work and as building blocks for community, family and eco-environments.

Glover has exhibited his work in the United Kingdom, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, New York, Massachusetts, Arkansas, Washington DC, Connecticut, and Georgia. His studio is in Northampton, MA, and the George Gallery in Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC represents him.

In addition to this exhibition, a panel discussion considering Visual Art & Sustainability will be held at Holyoke Community College in The Learning Collaborative, FR 265, on March 6, 2024 at 11 a.m.
