The Holyoke 150th Commemorative Book
This unique colorful book includes our Holyoke history, the City Hall dedication, all community events throughout the year, and highlights the Masquerade Ball and the closing of the Time Capsule in December.
The Explore Holyoke community calendar highlights the arts and cultural events throughout the city to help plan your visit. You are invited to submit your event. Events encouraged to be submitted are art openings, dance concerts, open mic events, cultural lectures. Events not allowed on the calendar are, political fundraisers, city meetings and daily specials from restaurants.
Tour includes the park’s history as a park alongside the Irish Catholic St. Jerome’s Church Campus.

Join Bob Comeau as he takes us on a tour of Veterans’ Memorial Park. Learn about the fascinating history of this neighborhood. You will learn about the park’s designation as part of the Hampden Park Historic District and its listing on the National Register of Historic Places. You will also learn about the 1st Catholic Church in Holyoke and the Convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Lourdes.
Meet at the Hampden Street side of the park.
Wear comfortable shoes as there will be walking on this tour. Be prepared to walk for about an hour.
