Doors Open Holyoke is proud to present a performance by Bomba De Aqui in the City Hall Ball Room. As part of a Day in the Yoke’ come enjoy a free performance open to the public.

About the group: “Bomba de Aquí is directed by Brendalíz Cepeda, also our lead dancer. Brendalíz is the granddaughter of the great bomba performer Rafael Cepeda, and learned the art and its history in her family, first appearing on stage at the age of 5. She has a BA in Education, an MA in Special Education, and has taught Special Education in the Holyoke, MA school system for many years.Bomba de Aquí’s musical director (and Brendalíz’s husband) Saul Peñalosa is a well-known percussionist. Other ensemble performers include professional musicians, teachers, and skilled community members.”
