Stop by the Visitor Center to try your hand at making a piece of homemade paper.  Holyoke was home to many paper mills, manufacturing quality paper for worldwide distribution. This earned Holyoke's nickname of "The Paper City." Kids and adults will enjoy getting your hands wet to make a special piece of paper to take home with you. Join Bob Comeau as he takes us on a 4-mile tour of Ashley Pond Reservoir. Get your exercise steps in as you see the Ashley Reservoir dam, an earthen fill dam with a total height of 12 feet and an approximate length of 640 feet. The dam is classified by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) as an Intermediate size structure and a Significant (Class II) hazard dam.
