DESCRIPTION:Grab a friend and come check out work by Madge Evers on Saturday\, December 6 from 12–3 pm. \nUp from December 4–27\, 2025\, Edges and Tolling Bells is the latest work by Evers who uses foraged materials to explore decomposition and regeneration and has adapted the mushroom spore print form to make works on paper. \nMadge uses alternative photography\, mushroom spores\, and painting to combine actual landscape details and imagined flora. She has exhibited throughout New England and attended residencies in Massachusetts\, Virginia\, Ireland\, and New York. Evers lives and works in western Massachusetts; her book about the cyanotype process will be published by Storey in 2026. \nThis event is free\, and light snacks are provided. Street parking is free on Saturdays.

DESCRIPTION:This hands-on make-and-take workshop will combine art appreciation with practice of techniques as we “mimic the masters” by looking closely at Piet Mondrian’s later abstract work. Participants will learn about some of the concepts and ideas behind his body of work then get the chance to practice them\, using acrylic paint to create a small work to take home. Participants can work on a piece of their own inspired by Mondrian’s design principles. \n\n$25\nall ages\n2 – 3 pm\nNo painting skill required\, all materials provided.

DESCRIPTION:Learn how to tie geode style and leave with your own bandana project! Jey Weisgerber (they/them) of Found & Faded will teach you the basics of tying with artificial sinew\, how to tie fabric for geode formation\, and share their process for cold mist dyeing at home. Leave with a bandana you tie-dyed on your own! Participants will tie their own 27-inch bandanas\, participate in the application of fiber-reactive powdered dyes\, and mist\, heat-set\, and rinse items before the class ends. Formal washing and drying of the project is the responsibility of the participant. Due to the use of powdered dyes\, a high-quality safety respirator mask is required to participate in this course – a great investment for any crafter.

DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, March 1st 12pm-3pm at the Artery\, 289 High St in Holyoke for an afternoon of dazzling skill and beauty in the work of Mehrnoush Bouzarjmehr. \nBorn in Iran\, though she grew up immersed in art\, Bouzarjmehr spent 20 years working in Iran’s delivery rooms as a Midwife\, BSC\, witnessing the very first cries of thousands of newborns and the tears and smiles of mothers as they embraced their babies for the first time. \nIn 2017 she immigrated to the United States and began painting her dreams once again on wood and canvas. Since 2000\, she has been deeply involved in painting\, exploring various techniques such as chalk pastel\, oil paint\, acrylic\, gouache\, watercolor\, fabric paint\, and markers. She has also studied traditional Persian styles like Tazhib (Illumination)\, Gol-o-Morgh (Bird and Flower)\, and ancient Persian tile patterns. \nNow\, her creations reside in the heart of Holyoke\, a city full of beauty and soul\, where each piece continues to share its story and emotions\, waiting to find a new home where it can tell its own tale. \nHer work will be on display thru the month of March\, gallery hours are Thursday\, Friday\, and Saturday 11am-5pm

DESCRIPTION:One hour\, all ages friendly! This one-hour make-and-take workshop introduces participants to some basic techniques of hand-drawn floral illustration. Participants will learn tips and techniques for drawing various flowers\, including penciling\, inking\, and coloring\, as well as composition pointers for patterns and floral bunches\, wreaths\, and word art. Demonstrations will include a few types of flowers and styles\, including the poppy\, and participants will be encouraged to use their imaginations as they illustrate their own set of notecards\, suitable for framing or mailing.
