Participate in Doors Open 2022!

In 2021 the City of Holyoke hosted its first Doors Open event with 25 locations opened and over 300 visitors. Some of the event’s highlights are the Victory Theater, The Mass Green High-Performance Computing Center, The Masonic Temple, The Hotel Jess, and tours of the Open Square Water Wheel and City Hall, to name a few. The Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED), in collaboration with the Greater Holyoke Chamber, is excited to
announce Doors Open 2022, which will take place on Saturday, October 15th.
Doors Open events across the country invite the public to see behind the doors of many places
not usually open to the public. Doors Open connects residents and visitors to local places of
historical, cultural, and architectural significance to bridge communities and inspire new and
broader perspectives. The first Doors Open took place in France in 1984, and the concept has
spread to other places in Europe, North America, and elsewhere. Several sites will be open to the
public for self-guided tours throughout the day, showcasing several downtown developments and
public art installations. This free event highlights some of the city’s historic architecture and
cultural assets. Doors Open relies on individuals and organizations that have a passion for
Holyoke. If you are interested in your site participating or volunteering at a site, please click one of the links below to register.
