The inaugural parade, held in 1952 to honor our Irish heritage, was the result of over a year of planning by the Brian Boru Club and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. It was a true community endeavor, with support from members of the Holyoke Police and Fire Departments, as well as the city’s parishes and Catholic schools.
