“Key to the City” Scavenger Hunt

September 30 @ 8:00 am - October 22 @ 11:59 pm

Join Holyoke in celebrating its 150th anniversary with a citywide “Key to the City” Scavenger Hunt. The scavenger hunt starts Saturday, September 30th and runs until Sunday, October 22nd. To get your first location, go to the Holyoke Preservation Trust website.

Whether you’re an aspiring photography virtuoso or a creative newbie, this is your chance to shine!  At each location you will take a photograph of yourself or of a consistent item (a stuffed animal, a stapler, a photograph of a loved one – be creative!). You will submit your photographs on the Keys to the City website. This is your proof that you have solved all of the clues and have traveled to all 14 destinations. $100 prizes will be awarded in 4 categories!

You have until midnight of October 22nd to submit your photographs to the Key to the City Committee. At 1pm on October 28th, all community members who have completed the Key to the City contest are invited to join a fun closing ceremony on the steps of the City Hall, where you will be awarded a “Key to the City” by Mayor Joshua Garcia and given a tour of the City Hall. You do not need to be present to receive an award, though all award-winners will be announced during the brief ceremony.
