SUMMARY:World Volleyball Day - Free Youth Volleyball Clinic
DESCRIPTION:World Volleyball Day is here — and we’re kicking it off with a clinic. *Free pre-registration required – space is limited! \nJoin us from 4:00–5:30 PM at Holyoke High School for a FREE co-ed youth clinic for players in grades 6–12 — hosted by the IVHF and led by 4-time Paralympian Chris Seilkop and coaches from the New England Region of USA Volleyball. \nWhether you’re picking up a volleyball for the first time or looking for a great tune-up before July and August club tryouts — this one’s for you. \nThen stick around. Because right after the clinic\, the main event begins: our “Volleyball Through the Ages” exhibition match\, where two teams play five sets through five eras of volleyball history — all as part of Holyoke’s World Volleyball Day celebration. \nIt’s a full evening of volleyball. And it’s all free.

SUMMARY:Book Group and Themed Meal - Bunker Hill: A City\, A Siege\, A Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Book Group and Themed Meal – Bunker Hill: A City\, A Siege\, A Revolution (book is by Nathaniel Philbrick).  The Holyoke Senior Center Book Club and Holyoke Preservation Trust are excited to invite you to an American-themed lunch and discussion of Nathaniel Philbrick’s Bunker Hill: A City\, A Siege\, A Revolution.  Join us on Wednesday July 8 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.  Tickets are $3 for those over 60 and $6 for those under 60.  Tickets are available at the link.  ” \nBook Description: \nIn the opening volume of his acclaimed American Revolution series\, Nathaniel Philbrick turns his keen eye to pre-Revolutionary Boston and the spark that ignited the American Revolution. In the aftermath of the Boston Tea Party and the violence at Lexington and Concord\, the conflict escalated and skirmishes gave way to outright war in the Battle of Bunker Hill. It was the bloodiest conflict of the revolutionary war\, and the point of no return for the rebellious colonists. Philbrick gives us a fresh view of the story and its dynamic personalities\, including John Adams\, Samuel Adams\, John Hancock\, Paul Revere\, and George Washington. With passion and insight\, he reconstructs the revolutionary landscape—geographic and ideological—in a mesmerizing narrative of the robust\, messy\, blisteringly real origins of America.”

DESCRIPTION:The only thing all humans share is that we are all born and we all die. Yet we often feel disconnected\, lonely\, or isolated in our journeys through these experiences. \nThe Birth/Death Project seeks to change that\, one story at a time\, weaving our truths together. \nA performance collage inspired by the real stories local people have shared with our project has been woven together to share with all of you. Joy\, grief\, wonder\, fear\, amazement\, mess\, glory\, hilarity\, pain\, connection. Join us in remembering what it feels like to be truly human together. \nJoin us at the public sharings of our work-in-progress performance piece! \nAll sharings are free to attend (donations accepted). \nThe 2026 phase of this project is supported in part by grants from the Conway\, Hadley\, Holyoke\, and Shelburne Cultural Councils\, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency.
