Dedicated “to Holyoke girls”\, this collection of poems and short stories examines the complexities of relationships and the grief and betrayal that can affect them. Love War Stories also delves into the experiences of generational challenges as a Puerto Rican girl growing up. About her work Rodriguez says “This collection documents how ‘love wars’ break out across generations as individuals find themselves caught in the crosshairs of romance\, expectations\, and community.” \nThis book discussion group will meet over the course of three weeks on November 18th\, November 25th\, and December 2nd from 5:30-6:30pm at Wistariahurst Museum. She has exhibited throughout New England and attended residencies in Massachusetts\, Virginia\, Ireland\, and New York. Runners ages 18+ can pre-register for a Starting Line Pass at holyokepride.org for a joyful dash from Euphorium Dispensary to The Cubit\, complete with playful awards like Fastest Santa and Best Group Santas. Supporters who prefer to cheer—or give from afar—can purchase a Cheer Squad Pass\, donating to Holyoke Pride without joining the run. (The event is free to attend).
