SUMMARY:Free Growing Wild Pollinator Kit Give-away
DESCRIPTION:The Healey-Driscoll Administration is Celebrating National Pollinator Month and encouraging residents to take part in the movement to save pollinators by giving away free native plant starter kits at 24 nurseries and DCR parks throughout the month of June. \nThis annual effort is part of the Growing Wild program\, a joint effort led by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)\, the Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR)\, and the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) aimed at promoting native species to support local ecosystems. This is the fifth consecutive year of Growing Wild. \nGrowing Wild is a movement to help preserve and protect native pollinators in Massachusetts by enhancing our landscapes to benefit pollinators and the environment. By providing free starter kits\, DCR\, MDAR & MNLA hope to encourage Massachusetts residents to help the environment and ecosystem by planting native plants. \nEach starter kit includes two one-gallon native perennial plants\, native seed packets\, and educational resources on pollinator-friendly gardening. Kits are available while supplies last. \nAll Massachusetts residents are encouraged to “Pledge Your Garden” and join the statewide pollinator map on mnla.com/growingwild.

SUMMARY:MOURNING [a] BLKSTAR
DESCRIPTION:MOURNING [a] BLKSTAR is a multi-generational\, non-gender and non-genre confirming collective from Cleveland\, Ohio. They meld live instrumentation with harmonizing vocals and hip-hop production to share stories and experiences of the African Diaspora. Their sets are rooted in communing with the audience — an experience that is solidarizing\, heart-warming\, and vital for this moment. \nThe group’s seven members include musicians\, writers\, and multimedia artists. Their intricate arrangements\, rooted in jazz\, blues\, soul\, r&b\, and hip-hop\, are an afrofuturist examination of our cultural paradoxes that at times challenge; at times uplift — and constantly moor themselves in both sincerity and defiance. \nshapeshifters of the black experience\n“Because we’re predominantly a Black band\, we get pigeonholed into certain spaces\,” says singer LaToya Kent. “People will think you just do one thing.” \nIn reality\, the band goes pretty much everywhere. With three deeply soulful vocalists and a horn section\, they “draw on everything from spacey Afrofuturistic jazz to uplifting gospel-like vocals to apocalyptic hip-hop beats\, all underscored by a lyrical commitment to social and racial justice and healing.” (Noah Schaffer\, Boston Globe)

SUMMARY:P-Funk's Danny Bedrosian & Secret Army
DESCRIPTION:Danny Bedrosian\, longtime keyboardist for Parliament-Funkadelic\, brings his band Secret Army to De La Luz for a night of hard-hitting funk\, deep grooves\, and sharp musicianship. Known for blending P-Funk roots with experimental jazz\, hip-hop\, and progressive rock\, Bedrosian leads a powerhouse ensemble that pushes beyond nostalgia. Secret Army’s live sets are dynamic\, tight\, and unapologetically genre-bending — equal parts rhythm and message. \nWhether you’re a P-Funk diehard or just into music with teeth\, this one’s worth being in the room for. \nDanny Bedrosian is best known as the official keyboardist of George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic\, with whom he’s performed and recorded for over 20 years. A classically trained pianist with Armenian roots and a deep love for funk\, Bedrosian brings virtuosic command and fearless experimentation to every stage. \nSecret Army\, his longtime solo vehicle\, features a rotating lineup of elite players\, delivering compositions that are as complex as they are raw. With albums like Secret Army\, Songs for a Better Tomorrow\, and The Sleaziest of the Greaze\, the group continues to expand the language of modern funk while paying homage to its revolutionary legacy.

While out West\, he co-hosted the legendary club night TORMENTA TROPICAL\, a decade-long dance party in SF’s Mission district. His in-demand DJ sets diffuse a multiplicity of genres with careful craftsmanship\, exquisitely blended with near-zero turbulence and maximal groove.

So mark your calendars and bring your friends and family to Wistariahurst Museum on June 19th\, 2025 12:00-3:00pm! It’s going to be a day filled with joy\, laughter and a whole lot of celebration. SUMMARY:É.T.É Celebrating the Joie de Vivre of Québecois Culture
DESCRIPTION:Awarded the OPUS prize for “Discovery of the Year 2017-2018”\, among many other accolades since their first album release in 2017\, this trio is quickly winning over the hearts of listeners worldwide\, young and old alike. É.T.É are Élisabeth (fiddle\, step-dancing\, vocals)\, Thierry\n(bouzouki\, podorythmie\, vocals)\, and Élisabeth (cello\, vocals). The word été in French means summer–a fitting tribute to how their original\, lively take on Québec traditional music is infused with a new vitality. \nThe fruitful meeting of three young musicians with vibrant artistic journeys\, É.T.É propose a dynamic and contemporary vision of Québécois trad music. With influences from jazz\, progressive rock\, and classical music\, they create their own trad universe with original compositions and unique arrangements of Québécois and Acadian repertoire. Their rich vocal harmonies\, their groove\, their ease at their instruments and their electrifying simpatico onstage transforms the ordinary kitchen party into an unforgettable show! \nFollowing the release of their first album Le boire des minuits in 2017\, É.T.É won the “Emerging” prize from Grands prix Desjardins de la culture de Lanaudière in 2017; “Discovery of the Year” from OPUS 2017-2018; the “People’s Choice” prize from Cabaret festif in 2018; the Linda Lemay award from Festival international de la chanson de Granby 2019; and a “Lucien” from GAMIQ (Québec Independent Music Awards) in 2020. Their second album\, Les quatre roses\, was nominated at both OPUS and ADISQ in 2020. The group has toured extensively throughout Canada\, the USA\, Scotland\, Belgium and Australia. Their most recent album\, Sur ces eaux\, was released in November2022.

These mini-grids will be placed as focal points in a growing spiral of energy\, expanding outward to connect the sacred vibrations to all who reside in the area.\nThe mission’s purpose is twofold: \n\nTo awaken the dormant protective and healing Earth energies of this sacred land.\nTo amplify the collective consciousness\, elevating the energies that support the rising of consciousness within every soul in our community.\n\nThrough this work\, we seek to establish a web of connection\, ensuring that the energy of this sacred place ripples outward and touches every individual\, igniting the flame of healing\, protection\, and awakening.\nThis is a deeply transformational opportunity to come together in sacred shared intention\, and create lasting change in our community.\nWe invite you to come with open hearts and an intention to contribute to this vital mission. Together\, we will anchor these potent frequencies into the Earth and witness the expansion of consciousness in this region.\nRSVP on Meetup https://www.meetup.com/181lindenst/events/307044971/?eventOrigin=your_events \nCheck out our mission on our website:    https://www.pathofthemasters.info/ \n

Their polyrhythmic drum programming\, interlocking guitars\, and live electronic manipulation turn minimalism into pure maximalism through sheer repetitive power and ecstatic presence! \nFresh off their acclaimed debut “This Is BASIC” and with new EP “Dream City” droped March 7th\, they’re proving that sometimes the most underground influences create the most forward-thinking sounds! \nWatch these three masters of “friendly surveillance” lock into semi-improvised “fields” (not songs!) that shift and evolve with just a nod or glance – it’s musical telepathy in action! \nFor fans of genre-defying music that challenges and rewards\, BASIC delivers an unforgettable live experience.
