Huge shoutout to the City of Holyoke DPW who decorates the tree and the lampposts along High Street to make downtown look festive for the holiday season! And also thank you to our Holyoke Parks & Recreation Department for coordinating this unique Holyoke tradition and always making it a wonderful experience for Holyokers and its visitors.

We will have cookies\, crafts\, merry go round rides\, music\, hot chocolate\, Olaf & Santa! \nFrom 3-5pm we will have free carousel rides the Holyoke Merry Go Round\, crafts at the Holyoke Children’s Museum. After that come and make you way out front of City Hall as we’ll be having music\, hot chocolate\, cookies\, popcorn and more! We are tracking Santa and are thinking he may arrive with the Parade of Lights around 6pm\, where he’ll meet up with Mayor Joshua Garcia and our friends from People’s Bank to light the tree! \nBig thanks to our friends @PeoplesBank for sponsoring the tree\, @CurranConstruction for the delivery. Guests can also enjoy a series of fun puzzle games and word searches centered around our museum\, as well as large motor games that will be set up in the Music Room. We will also have a variety of board games for guests to engage with and enjoy. \nThat’s not all! Staff are on the lookout for Winston the Wisty Lion and need your help! Winston is sleeping somewhere in our museum\, but we can’t find him! During your self-guided tour\, keep your eyes open for our lethargic\, little lion. When you find him\, don’t shout and wake him up! Take a picture or selfie with him and show your picture to our front desk attendant to get an exclusive Winston sticker! Want to have more fun with our lazy lion? Search for Winston’s clues to answer historical questions and learn more about the museum while you explore each of the rooms. Best of all\, there is no time limit to this scavenger hunt\, so all can enjoy this activity at their own pace. At the end of your hunt\, stop by the front desk to show your answers and win a fun prize! Our Sensory Friendly Sunday Funday is a great opportunity for families with sensory difficulties to explore the museum and enjoy the holiday season. DESCRIPTION:John Doyle & Mick McAuley have been playing music together on the international stage for over twenty years. As multi-instrumentalist members of Irish-American supergroup Solas\, they combined to create part of the group’s unmistakeable early sound which garnered critical worldwide acclaim with the Boston Herald heralding Solas as “The Best Traditional Band in the World”. Over the last several years\, Doyle and McAuley have toured extensively as a duet all over Europe and the U.S. and have recently recorded and released a new and exciting album of original and traditional songs and tunes which range from explosive instrumental sets to heart-rending and beautiful ballads. Individually\, they have played and recorded with some of the most respected musical artists in the world and are\, themselves\, among the most highly regarded musicians in the Irish folk world.
