SUMMARY:The Cozy Bookclub & Fiber Circle
DESCRIPTION:Are you dreading winter? Do you spend the whole time dreaming of Spring? Stop! There’s a lot to enjoy about the winter\, and we’re taking inspiration from The Little Book of Hygge (pronounced hyoo · guh). The closest English synonym would be Cozy! \nThis group meets on Thursdays for 10 weeks\, beginning October 26 and ending January 11. \nEach week we’ll meet together to talk about a chapter or two and a different concept from the Hygge Manifesto\, namely Atmosphere\, Presence\, Pleasure\, Equality\, Gratitude\, Harmony\, Comfort\, Truce\, Togetherness\, and Shelter. The Cozy Bookclub doesn’t just talk about cozy higgle\, though; we’re about it! Feel free to bring your own fiber project\, wether embroidery\, crochet\, knitting\, or hand sewing\, this is an opportunity to work on (or learn!) a fiber-based craft. Some general guidance and sample projects will be provided\, but participants are encouraged to follow their passions and bring their own projects to the circle. We don’t want cost to be a reason someone can’t join in\, so participation is free with a suggested donation of $5-10 at the door to cover the cost of operating and snacks. \nIf you register for the cost of the book\, it’ll be mailed to you ahead of the class. If you have a copy\, feel free to sign up below and bring it with you!

SUMMARY:Hourly Comics Day at the Print Shop
DESCRIPTION:Want to do Hourly Comics Day this February but you have no idea how to get started? Want to try out drawing some comics in a low-pressure environment?  Never heard of Hourly Comics Day before? Join us at the Print Shop on Saturday Jan 27th from 12 to 2 pm for an in-person event where we’ll talk about what Hourly Comics Day is\, how it got started\, why people do it\, and why it’s super fun. We’ll have a range of materials on site for you to try out as well as templates and other comics tools. Registration requested\, limited to 15 people due to shop capacity. This session and the materials are made possible through support from the Print Shop\, Holyoke ART\, and the Holyoke Local Cultural Council (a program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council). All ages are welcome and families are encouraged\, though we do ask grownups to stay with their kiddos as we will not have child care on site and there are some sharp things in the shop. \nCan’t make it but would like a materials kit? Let us know when you register. \n
