Event Series Canal and Fishway Tour

Canal and Fishway Tour

Holyoke Heritage State Park 221 Appleton St, Holyoke, MA

Two tours in one! Holyoke’s canals were key to making this planned industrial city. Join this easy 1- mile walking tour of the first and second level canals to discover how they were built and how they work. The walk culminates at Holyoke Gas & Electric’s Robert Barrett Fishway, where we join a Fishway Guide to take a tour of the powerhouse, the amazing fish lift and viewing room. Afterward, walk back to the park visitor center. Tours are free and open to the public. Meet at Holyoke Heritage State Park Visitor Center. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
