SUMMARY:JOEL SCHILLER - VISIONS OF THE 5TH BARDO
DESCRIPTION:Joel Schiller has no formal art training and has been painting for his own enjoyment for 50+ years.  Since retiring and moving to Columbia County\, New York  in 2011 he has had lots of time to  paint and think about painting.   “I have developed my own techniques which may not be what they teach in art school but they suit what I am trying to do.  I am intrigued by how chance events\, what tubes of paint you happen to have on hand\, your long-thought-out decisions and sudden inspirations about the next brushstroke\, all leave a record and when they dry are frozen and preserved.”  Joel was born in 1944.  This is his first solo exhibition\,
