DESCRIPTION:Summit 1202 and Holyoke Parks & Recreation will host another community gathering group walk at Mount Tom! We hope to see our Paper City family and the surrounding towns there. We will be walking around the Whiting Reservoir Loop. This is a relatively easy walk around the reservoir making it suitable for all ability levels. Come out meet new people and participate in a fun experience. We’ll meet at 11 a.m. at the Mount Tom entrance on Mountain Park Road in Holyoke Massachusetts. Join ensemble Shadow\, Sound\, Spectacle for a fresh perspective on the works of Edgar Allen Poe\, Mary Shelley\, Emily Dickinson\, Anne Rice\, and others\, told through live music\, shadow puppetry\, video\, and narrative. All are welcome\, but recommended for adults and teens. Q&A to follow. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Holyoke Local Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency. \nDescription of the performers:\nFounded in 2023\, Shadow\, Sound\, Spectacle unites three artists working at the intersection of puppetry\, music\, and storytelling. Jess Martin is a Western Massachusetts-based singer-songwriter and storyteller blending gothic folk\, modern rock\, and immersive performance. Amy West is a Boston-based puppeteer\, writer\, and musician who performs nationwide in puppet slams and builds custom puppets for stage and screen.
