DESCRIPTION:The Children’s Museum at Holyoke is hosting their 3rd Annual Summer Book Fair on August 15th\, 16th\, and 17th from 10:00 – 4:00 each day. Enjoy free activities\, storytime\, healthy snacks and beverages\, an exciting selection of raffles\, and THOUSANDS of books for all ages! \nThe event is free and open to the public\, where every family is invited to come and partake in the Book Fair on a ‘Pay-What-You-Can’ model by choosing a sliding scale donation amount in exchange for books. No child or family leaves empty handed! \nAccess to reading materials can vary for children once the school year has ended. This is especially true in places considered to be “Book Deserts”\, this event is aims to make an accessible literary oasis!

DESCRIPTION:Join fellow readers for the next book discussion group at Wistariahurst beginning June 10th\, 2025. Readers will dive into “We Do This ‘Til We Free Us- Abolitionist Organizing and Transforming Justice” by Mariame Kaba. This powerful collection of essays and interviews\, woven together by Kaba covers topics including abolition\, liberation\, and political struggle. \nThis book discussion ties into the exhibit Prison Reimagined\, currently on view at Wistariahurst Museum through June 2025. Prison Reimagined features a series of portraits of U.S. presidents and writing pieces that touch on people’s experiences within the prison system. \nJoining each meeting will be a member of the incarcerated community who will weigh in on the discussion. Readers will meet 6 times every other week\, with our first meeting on Tuesday\, June 10 at 5:30 pm.
