We explore engineering prowess\, mill operation\, historic visionaries\, and the power of water as we walk along parts of the first and second level canals of this fascinating planned industrial city. \nAlong the way we will see headraces\, tailraces\, intakes\, a Boyden Turbine assembly\, flywheels\, and get an eyeball tour of Holyoke Gas and Electric’s dam complex. Maps of the canal system are available. Distance: 2.0 miles. \nMeet at the Visitor Center. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather. Rain or extreme heat cancels. DESCRIPTION:Come to the Exhibition Hall in the Visitor Center to get an up-close and personal view of some of the little creatures that share our world.  Renee Hill’s exquisite macrophotography opens your eyes to the details of salamanders\, spiders\, grasshoppers and other creatures you may have never seen – even in your own backyard. \nThis free exhibit is accompanied by an art table for children\, and children-at-heart\, to color their own tiny creature to hang alongside the exhibit. \nOpen daily 12pm to 4pm until July 30. It’s more than music—it’s cultural resistance wrapped in joy\, rhythm\, and fire. \nStart your day with brunch at Comfort Bagel\, open from 7 AM until 1 PM.
