Discover the wonders of the first floor at Wistariahurst Museum and explore each captivating room\, beginning with the elegant marble lobby and continuing to the enchanting music room\, all while utilizing our informative guide pamphlets in English and Spanish. \nThroughout the first floor\, guests of all ages can interact with activities curated with our friends with sensory sensitivities in mind. Our music room will be filled with fun gross motor activities that will get everyone hopping\, moving\, and excited with hula hoops\, hopscotch\, bounce balls\, and so much more! Throughout the first floor\, children will be able to interact with fine motor activities\, puzzles\, and board games to engage with and enjoy. \nThat’s not all! Staff are on the lookout for Winston the Wisty Lion and need your help! Winston is sleeping somewhere in our museum\, but we can’t find him! During your self-guided tour\, keep your eyes open for our lethargic\, little lion. When you find him\, don’t shout and wake him up! Take a picture or selfie with him and show your picture to our front desk attendant to get an exclusive Winston sticker! \nWistariahurst Museum has a new\, fun dino-themed scavenger hunt to celebrate DINO DAYS! Follow alongside Patty the Dinosaur and learn all about Massachussett’s state dinosaur\, Podokesaurus holyokensis. Best of all\, there is no time limit to this scavenger hunt\, so all can enjoy this activity at their own pace. At the end of your hunt\, stop by the front desk to show your answers and win a fun prize! \nGet ready to stomp\, chomp\, and roar as you break out in your favorite dino-dance moves during our Dinosaur Dance Off! Dress like your favorite dinosaur and meet us in the Music Room to boogie like a brontosaurus to win a special\, prehistoric themed prize. \nOur Sensory Friendly Sunday Fundays provide an excellent opportunity for families with sensory sensitivities to experience our museum in a relaxed environment at their own pace. DESCRIPTION:Come to the Exhibition Hall in the Visitor Center to get an up-close and personal view of some of the little creatures that share our world.  Renee Hill’s exquisite macrophotography opens your eyes to the details of salamanders\, spiders\, grasshoppers and other creatures you may have never seen – even in your own backyard. \nThis free exhibit is accompanied by an art table for children\, and children-at-heart\, to color their own tiny creature to hang alongside the exhibit. \nOpen daily 12pm to 4pm until July 30. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
