DESCRIPTION:Taber Art Gallery is pleased to announce Geo-Spec: Cultural Introspection Wealth by Raishad J. Glover on view January 16 – March 20\, 2024. \nRaishad JaBar Glover was born in 1980 in Heidelberg\, Germany. Glover attended The Governor’s School for the Arts in Greenville\, SC; attended New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in New Orleans\, LA (High School Diploma); attended the Xavier University of Louisiana; attended Tufts University\, School of Museum for Fine Arts in Boston (Studio Diploma); attended Yale University\, Yale School of Art in New Haven\, CT (MFA). \nGlover considers himself a Conceptual artist who practices with mediums such as Lenticular Printing\, Graphite Powder\, Beeswax\, Dura-trans/backlit Film\, Analog/Digital Photography\, and LED Lights. Geo-Spec: Cultural Introspection Wealth explores Cultural Introspection Wealth (CIW)\, Ecological Design Services (EDS)\, and Visual Transformations (VT) with Glover’s Geo-Spec Cube series serving as a starting point for new work and as building blocks for community\, family and eco-environments. \nGlover has exhibited his work in the United Kingdom\, South Carolina\, North Carolina\, Texas\, Louisiana\, New York\, Massachusetts\, Arkansas\, Washington DC\, Connecticut\, and Georgia. His studio is in Northampton\, MA\, and the George Gallery in Charleston\, SC and Charlotte\, NC represents him. \nIn addition to this exhibition\, a panel discussion considering Visual Art & Sustainability will be held at Holyoke Community College in The Learning Collaborative\, FR 265\, on March 6\, 2024 at 11 a.m.  \nPlease join us for an opening reception January 16\, 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Taber Art Gallery to celebrate his work and his recent addition to Holyoke Community College as the newest Visual Art Faculty member.

SUMMARY:Abstract Revelry: A Visual and Audio Experience
DESCRIPTION:Stop by Wistariahurst Museum throughout February to experience Erika Slocumb’s newest exhibit\, Abstract Revelry. This art exhibit is the first of its kind to be presented in our gallery\, with each artwork being accompanied by pieces of music that inspired each piece. Borne from a discussion about the need for interactive exhibits that can engage multiple senses\, while also making sure to program this exhibit in a way that people with disabilities can also enjoy the full experience. Erika’s artwork is intricate and multidimensional\, making it a unique perspective on how art comes in many forms You will hear artists such as Rihanna and Public Enemy\, with QR Codes available to link you to a playlist that you can listen to while viewing the exhibit. Abstract Revelry: A Visual and Audio Experience hopes to inspire visitors to think differently about art and how it can be experienced! \nWhether you’re an art or music lover\, the Abstract Revelry exhibit will provide a special and inspiring experience that cannot be missed! Open hours for the exhibit will be on Mondays (from 10 am-2 pm) and Tuesdays (from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm) from February 6th-27th\, 2024. Admission to Abstract Revelry is free and open to the public so that all can view this amazing exhibit experience. \nVisite el Museo Wistariahurst durante el mes de febrero para ver la nueva exposición de Erika Slocumb\, Abstract Revelry. Esta exposición de arte es la primera de este tipo que se presenta en nuestra galería\, y cada obra va acompañada de piezas musicales que la inspiraron.
